SAMHAIN 2006 REGISTRATION
"See Beyond the Mist "
October 19 - 22, 2006
COMMUNITY SERVICE SHIFTS In order to keep ticket prices low, CMA requires that each adult who attends the festival perform a two-hour Community Service shift. Work shifts will be assigned on a first-come first-serve basis, so return your registration early. Our greatest need is usually strong bodies for tending fire, collecting trash, or running about in the heat to handle guardian/medic tasks, and shower duty. Bridge Trolls: Be one of the first to greet your brothers and sisters at Festival by working as a Bridge Troll! Our primary purpose is to make sure that everyone has a safe and fun time. You get to be as silly as you like while imparting important last minute information about the condition of the site, location changes of regular meeting spots, and any other important news. All monies raised go to the Land Fund! Bubbling Cauldron: Lend a hand at the Bubbling Cauldron Café, and we shall never hunger nor thirst. Duties include ice wrangling, serving drinks, delivering orders, and busing tables. 2-hour shifts. CMA-1 Ancillary Services: Serving at CMA-1 is always interesting. Depending on the shift you chose, you could be asked to anything from selling ice to arranging raffle items or helping our enticing dancers set up for the Hafla. Check with Community Service when choosing your shift. Community Service needs several friendly members to sit and check folks in at CMA-1. Primarily, the job is to make sure members receive their Community Service Assignments, know where to report, and answer related questions. You will also get to hand out Badges to members who have completed their service. Ellens’ Coffee Café: The café is now open throughout the day and evening! Greet the early risers or share in the evening coffee shop atmosphere! Help Mary and Nancy Ellen keep the coffee brewing as well as setup and cleanup of all the supplies for our own “Let’s do coffee” area! Fire Crews: It takes a lot of hard work to make our fires safe and sacred. These members help prepare the fire pits during the day and tend the fires at night. The energy you use in building and tending the fires makes a circuit of energy between you, the drummers, dancers and storytellers. It is a never-ending circle of community. If you think the heat will be too great for you, consider working with the Phoenix fire instead. Please mark whether you wish to build or tend, and whether you want to work with Revel or Phoenix fire. Front Gate and Parking: Do you want to greet your friends as they enter SpiritHaven? Join the CMA Gatekeepers and welcome your fellow members into our sacred space. Please mark which position you would prefer. Green Room and Stage Crew: This team is responsible for getting the stage ready for the bands, and keeping the Green Room stocked and tidy. Please mark which position you would prefer. Healers Station: Medics and Healers, we need you! Knowledge of CPR and basic First Aid is preferred, but not required. We appreciate it when our current and retired physicians, nurses, medics, EMS technicians, paramedics, medical assistants, and medical technologists serve in this capacity. * Hospitality Services: Serving at the Hospitality desk in addition to your normal community service promotes communication and feeds the spiritual connection that is shared by CMA members. This is the information booth where new and old members can find out more about SpiritHaven and CMA and how they can share their gifts and talents with the organization. You must have attended at least two prior festivals and apply to Charlye D. or Carolynn Z. to join this team. Registration Services (RAdmin): Serving at “radmin” is fun! It’s also where members can speak their voice by voting, and get answers to membership or registration questions. This is the Administrative side of the festival and where problems get solved. Rowdy Recyclers: Join the rowdiest crew at festival to help our Land and your fellow membership through recycling and waste management. You may drive our truck or gather bags from barrels and place them in the dumpster and recycling areas at the front of the property, so you must be able to heft the bags. Samhain Supporters: Want to be of help wherever you may be needed? Be a Samhain Supporter! This could include anything from helping with children’s games, water runners, or announcing the time each hour. Often Samhain Supporters will end up assisting the Community Service Team for at least part of their 2-hour shift. |
(Community Service Shifts Continued...) * Setup Crew: These are the members who arrive one or more days ahead of everyone else to work at making sure that everything is ready for the festival. You could be doing everything from mowing to helping set up “the big top”. You must apply to Matt Land, our Land Manager for permission to join this special team. landmanager@magickal-arts.org Shower House: This is your chance to work with the element water and all of its cleansing and renewing properties. This crew makes sure that we all have a clean and comfortable environment in our showers. * Tear-Down Crew: As festival reaches its end, help ground the energy raised and ensure that we leave no trace. You will be permitted to camp overnight on Sunday and assist with whatever needs to be done from trash pickup to cleaning the shower houses and much, much more. Your must apply to Matt Land, our Land Manager for permission to join this Crew and stay overnight. landmanager@magickal-arts.org Youth Services: This is where members get to work with our members aged 17 and under.
