Many Passions, One Flame
Beltane 2007
Safety Services Post-Event Report
Blessings everyone,
We are pleased to report that Beltane 2007 was, for the most part, blessedly quiet for us. We had a wonderful time with our pre-event silliness on Wednesday night movie night, complete with popcorn and mead/beer/wine… so much so that we intend to continue this new tradition for us for Samhain as well. We must report however that, sadly, despite open heart surgery (a new battery) our beloved Puss in Boots has passed on to his great reward and is now, undoubtedly, frolicking merrily through the Time Lords catnip fields.
The Safety Services Staff will be holding at least one training weekend during the “down” time between events this summer. Anyone who has volunteered in either the Healing Station or with the Guardians will be welcome to attend. These weekends are work and brainstorming intensive. We would welcome new ideas from anyone. If you have ideas that you would wish to share, send an e-mail to safety-services@magickal-arts.org. An announcement of the date of our training weekend will be forthcoming soon.
We would like to thank all festival attendees and the Board of Directors for their continued support of our efforts. Special thanks must go to our campmates, friends and spouses/significant others who kept us hydrated, fed and somewhat rested…..our love to each of you.
May Spirit Hold You and Yours,
The Safety Services Team
And on a final note, please remember: “Water, water, water,…sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen,…shoes, shoes, shoes.”
