DAY AWAKENING

The sunrise
Like the colors of the rainbow,
Each one distinct yet flowing with harmony into the next.
The violet and indigo of the early morning sky.
The light blue with clouds hinting pink as the sun
approaches the horizon from below.
And as it nears, the sky becomes bright yellow, turning
to a rich gold.
Then finally the glorious sun itself, resplendent in
brilliant orange and red.
Bringing light and life to the green growing things
and Mother Earth.
Now all traces of the night are gone as the morning
comes into full blossom. Like a lovely multi-colored
flower barely opening with a hint of what is waiting
inside.
The bright white of the moon still shining.
telling us to bring a little of the magic
of the night
into our day.
The noontime white of the clouds
a reminder
of the white
of the moon
and the magic
of the night.
