Beltaine, 2007 the CMA GLBT & Friends Society gathered for our twice annual meeting in Rainbow Camp.
Among the topics discussed was the Freedom by Fire Friday night ritual. Wow! What an awesome event. Thank you, Nyyki, for writing such a beautiful ritual. Killina and Cliffie, you both did a wonderful job as Priestess and Priest for this event. We would also like to give a big thank you to the drummers who were present and helped keep the energy flowing. Music always makes a huge difference!
During our new business, we bounced around ideas for new Rainbow Camp annual events. This is what we have come up with so far:
For Beltaine we would host a Pajama Party! For Samhain we would host a Masquerade Ball! Both events would not start until Midnight to make certain no energy was taken from Revel Fire prematurely. Also for both events, we would have “costume” contests. Everyone would be encouraged to wear pajamas or masks representing that festival’s theme. Awards would go to: the best portrayal of the festival’s theme; most original and most elaborate. Alcohol will be served, so 21 and older please.
We are still smoothing out the details for both annual events, so please watch upcoming issues of the Accord for more information.
We do, however, have one repeating event every festival: Mimosa Breakfast! So from now on, if you have a moment, come visit us, we are easy to find. Just walk down vendor’s row (coming from CMA 1 toward the showers) and look for the rainbows on the left and you’ve found us! You’ve found your safe haven for laughter, fun and yes, even MIMOSA’S!!!
