Community Service

Greetings Festival Attendees!

With Beltane 2006 just around the corner, I wanted to let everyone know that we have made several improvements to the Community Service process, in order to make Festival a more enjoyable occasion for our whole community.

Already your Team Leaders are hard at work figuring out schedules, staffing requirements, etc. A special “Thank You” is due these members who dedicate so much extra time before, during, and after the event to making sure everything runs smoothly for the rest of us. These are your Team Leads and Chiefs so far:

Exciting News! The Ellens’ Coffee Café is now going to be open 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. for those of us who like to sip a hot drink throughout the day, or share in the evening Café atmosphere. So if you enjoy visiting with your friends in CMA-1, you can sign-up to do this from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

We have also made Tweens a co-op, so that more members can share in the workshop experience. (See below!)

You will notice an extra field on the Community Services Sign-up Sheet. Each Team will now include several “permanent” team members. If you have been on the same team for the last few festivals and would like to stay with that team for the next couple of festivals, ask your Team Leader if you can be put on the team staff. If you don’t know your Leader’s email address, you can send the request to me at s.dragon.wolfe@gmail.com with “Team Staff” in the subject, and I’ll forward it to them for approval.

We are making sure everyone gets a chance to check their Festival Guide before confirming their shift times, so as soon as you know what your plans are for the Festival, drop by the Community Services area at CMA-1 and confirm your team & times with us. If you have asked for a certain shift and don’t confirm it within 4 hours of shift time, we will give your assignment to someone else. And remember to hang on to those “Receipts” you get signed by your shift lead…. return it to Community Service and get a new badge to hang on your lanyard!

That’s all the news for now folks… see you at SpiritHaven for Beltane 2006!

Work Weekend Report

High Winds, A Drought, a Leak, Cows, Donkeys, and Repairs.

Those are just some of the things to look forward to at work weekends. Coming out to camp for free...ok, you have to work or contribute in some way, is one of the more rewarding things at Spirit Haven. You too can join other hard-working CMA members readying our site for festivals. In the evenings, we kick back, swap stories, and share our
food and beverages. There is the occasional ritual, trips to Stockman's, and other
strategic planning, but basically it's fun, and it benefits our community. Join us at

Youth Services

Beltaine is almost here and great things are afoot! We have found our Tween Coordinator! I am excited to announce that Tesa Silva will be working with the Tweens. Thank you Tesa for stepping up and helping out! She has some exciting things in the works for the kids and I think will be a great addition to the team. Joyce Maddox is also going to be helping with the Teens. She will help Luna keep our teens entertained and active. Thank you Joyce for helping out!

We are still looking for people to hold workshops for the kids. There are several in the works already but it would be great to have things for them to choose from all day long. Remember, they are the future of CMA and I would hope that we would want them to be as knowledgeable as the adults are today. If you have ideas or want to hold a workshop, email me at rayvnwytch at yahoo dot com.

Great news! The Teens will also be doing blankets for puppies and dogs. They are working in conjunction with the SPCA to make blankets for the shelters. If you have old blankets that you would like to donate, please bring them with you and take them to Teen camp.

Remember, there is always a need for donations for the kids. Things like snacks, drinks and craft supplies often are needed but in short supply. Anything you can do to help is greatly appreciated!!

I think that’s all from us.

Blessings,
Raven
