Volunteering for Hug Patrol
(An almost newbees memories)
by Sky Ladywolf

I am not really sure which year it was but it was Beltaine at Spirit Haven. I was told about Hug Patrol by our lovely Kimberly and asked if I wanted to help. She told me it was a way of greeting each camp every morning with a hug and chocolates. So I showed up the next morning and met 2 others. I can’t remember the lady’s name (sorry never been good with names) but it was also the first Hug Patrol for a new Houston member. We were given pink bunny ears, baskets of chocolates and instructions to go from camp to camp, ask if we could come in, and give everyone who wanted it a hug and offer them chocolates. It was great. I got to see parts of the land I had not seen yet, met people who welcomed us into their camps and got lots of hugs and gave many people their morning chocolate rush. For a newbee it was a wonderful way to meet people. Oh and the other newbee, who ended up keeping those ears, well that is how he got the nickname of the Cadbury Bunny. But then that’s another story.
